More Quick Takes at Conversion Diary! |
I had my baby fix though, holding and feeding a three
month old. I see this group as a total win for all; we get to relax and make something pretty (Pinterest anyone?), we build community and I get to hold babies. What could be bad?

2. We also went on a pilgrimage to the Basilica of the Shrine of Our Lady Queen of the Universe in Orlando on Wednesday. The day was a great success!

4. The season of Advent is almost here. Two more Sundays of this Liturgical year and then on Dec 2, it's Advent. Start thinking about what you can do to make the season about the coming of the Christ child.
5. And now for some random thoughts: new favorite tea is Twinings Lemon Ginger Herbal Tea; my eye appointment went well, eyes are improving as in the hole is getting smaller (can't recall where the hole is but it's not as bad as it sounds, really!) so I don;t have to go back for six months; we are studying the book of Exodus and having a great time; it's hard to focus when your eyes are dilated.
6. I will be a witness for a marriage validation Saturday. I realized that I have never been in an actual wedding party. My sister had a very small wedding so though I was her "matron of honor" there was no big fanfare. A few years ago my husband and I both stood up for good friends of ours when they had their marriage blessed and I've been a witness for many couples through the years because of working with RCIA.. It's like the reverse of "always a bridesmaid, never a bride." No tacky wedding party dresses for me!
7. Today is our daughter's birthday. It will just be the two of us celebrating tonight since dad is at formation for the weekend. I am happy she is home again. We haven't been together for her birthday in five years!

I often have that thought about "preaching to the choir." I don't write very "Catholic" on my blog for that reason...I keep hoping and praying that casting a wider net will allow me to "catch" some people from outside Catholicism. My paid writing, however, is almost exclusively Catholic. Weird.
I love #1! As a chuch choir director and former liturgy director, let me just say: GO FOR IT!
I think I'm one of few non Catholics who link up to 7 Quick Takes, but I have come to appreciate the devotion and service you Catholics bring to your faith. Trust me. It translates past your Catholic circle.
